Robbie Fruean

Robert Fruean was named the IRB World Under-19 player of the year in 2007 after leading New Zealand to a championship win in Ireland. He then had open-heart surgery to repair a condition known as pancarditis, a potentially life-threatening inflammation of the heart. Fruean is a former Porirua College head boy. Capable of playing midfield or wing, this will be his first season with the Crusaders.
