Kiwi-founded Buy Now Pay Later provider, Laybuy, will make it easier for Crusaders fans to get behind their team in 2022, announcing today it has signed a multi-year partnership with the Christchurch-based side.
The partnership, which also includes fellow New Zealand Super Rugby Pacific teams the Blues, Chiefs, and Highlanders, will provide rugby fans with an alternative payment option when making purchase decisions about merchandise, season memberships and more going forward.
Crusaders CEO, Colin Mansbridge, welcomed Laybuy on board as a partner of the club.
“We’re really excited about this partnership with Laybuy, as it promises to provide our fans with flexible payment options across our online shop and our 2022 Membership programme,” Mansbridge said.
“We want to make it as easy as possible to be a Crusaders fan, and the ability for people to customise their experience - whether that is selection of their membership package and merchandise, or the way in which they pay – is an important consideration. We’re thrilled to have Laybuy on board and to be able to offer their service to our fans.”
Laybuy Managing Director Gary Rohloff says the agreement, which sees Laybuy become both an official partner and exclusive BNPL provider for four of the New Zealand Super Rugby Pacific teams, allows fans to spread the cost of their membership and merchandise over six interest-free weeks when they pay with Laybuy.
“At Laybuy we’re Kiwi through and through and, like all New Zealanders, we love our rugby! It’s in our DNA,” says Rohloff.
“That is why we’re proud to support New Zealand’s leading code, which we believe brings together and showcases so many great New Zealand traits and values that are central to Laybuy and our partners including courage, community spirit, ingenuity and family.
“But we also know that being a fan can sometimes be expensive, which is why we wanted to work with these teams and make it as easy as possible for Kiwi families to get down to the game and show their support.
“Through our partnership, fans can now buy their season passes, merchandise and more moving forward, using Laybuy and stagger the cost with six equal weekly payments. Spreading the cost can help make these items more affordable and best of all, unlike credit cards, Laybuy customers don’t pay interest, ever!”
Launched in 2017, Laybuy is New Zealand’s leading Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) service with a growing presence in the United Kingdom and Australia. Its unique, fully integrated payment platform is helping revolutionise the way we spend.
Laybuy is simple and allows consumers to stagger their payments while also providing merchants with a low-risk payment option. Laybuy customers can shop at any of Laybuy’s >6,000 partner merchants, either online or in-store, and receive their purchase straight away. They then split their repayments across six weekly, interest-free instalments, the first being at the point of sale. Learn more at www.laybuy.com.
