The BNZ Crusaders have teamed up with one of their gold charities, the Christchurch City Mission, to help spread the word about their annual ‘Brown Paper Bag Appeal’.

To show their support, the BNZ Crusaders have given the City Mission 500 tickets to their match against the Blues on Saturday night, to distribute among their hard-working staff and volunteers. Members of the public who make a donation of non-perishable food items direct to the City Mission, will also be able to trade their items for tickets to the game.

BNZ Crusaders CEO Hamish Riach said the club was thrilled to be able to offer volunteers, staff and their families an opportunity to attend the match, as a small gesture for all of the great work the City Mission does in our community: “We are proud to have worked closely with the City Mission over a number of years, and we appreciate the tireless work they do to support people in need.

“As well as rewarding staff and volunteers, we also want to encourage our communities in Christchurch to get behind this worthy appeal, by giving people the chance to trade the Foodbank items they donate, for tickets to head along to the game,” Riach said.

City Missioner Matthew Mark said he was grateful for the support shown by the BNZ Crusaders: “The City Mission relies on our network of passionate volunteers and supporters, as well as the general public, so to be able to thank some of those individuals for their dedication to our cause is fantastic.

“We are grateful to the BNZ Crusaders for throwing their support behind this initiative and helping us to reward those who continue to make a difference in our city,” Mark said.

The Christchurch City Mission Brown Paper Bag appeal will run throughout the month of July. For more information on the Appeal and how to donate, click here.
