The BNZ Crusaders are seeking nominations for community projects and people who deserve a good turn in the Timaru, Ashburton, North Canterbury and Banks Peninsula regions.  The squad will head to these regions on 27 January and will be making themselves available to lend a hand to some good causes.

BNZ Crusaders back Robbie Fruean said the team was keen to leave their mark in each of the regions they visit, by getting stuck in and helping out in the community.

“We don’t get to travel to these parts of our catchment area as often as we’d ideally love to, so we want to make these visits really worthwhile.  We are offering an ‘Hour of Power’ in each of these regions, where we will provide the manpower to help out with a worthy community project.  We are also going to host a ‘Good Sorts’ BBQ lunch in each region for some deserving members of the community, so we need people to tell us who those people and projects should be,” Fruean said.

Nominations for the Hour of Power and Good Sorts lunch can be sent to the BNZ Crusaders by email – - or a message to our Facebook page - One nomination will be successful for each event in each of the areas (Timaru, Ashburton, North Canterbury and Banks Peninsula).

While in the regions, the players will also visit some of the local rugby clubs and deliver skills and drills sessions for some of the young, local talent in each area.

Further details on the visits will be provided once the successful nominations for each region are decided and the programme is finalised.
