Joe Moody will miss the early part of the 2018 Super Rugby season as he recovers from a shoulder injury, but will no doubt return to again make his mark in the loosehead prop position.
He impressed during his debut season for the Crusaders in 2013, earning a call up to the All Blacks end of year tour which unfortunately became unrealised due to injury in the NPC Final. He got another opportunity in 2014, despite only returning from injury late in the Super Rugby season, making five appearances for the All Blacks during the Investec Rugby Championship.
Although he missed out on initial selection in the 2015 Rugby World Cup squad, injuries to both Tony Woodcock and Wyatt Crockett saw him called into the team and he fronted with the best of them. Moody now has 31 test caps to his name.
As a former rugby league junior and New Zealand wrestling representative who won a junior Commonwealth Games bronze medal and competed at the world junior championships, Moody is no pushover in the scrum.
