Romano's professional rugby career started with the Canterbury provincial team in 2009. He then debuted for the Crusaders in 2011 and went from strength to strength as he gained in experience and confidence. That culminated in selection for the All Blacks in 2012.
A builder by trade, Romano was a promising cricketer until he was overcome by injury and made the switch to rugby.
His leadership in the lineout is of great value to the team, and he showed in 2017 that his overall game is only continuing to grow.
The 29-test All Black will be back for his eighth season with the BNZ Crusaders in 2018.
