The Crusaders are the first team to achieve a clean sweep on tour in 2014, winning their second South African game on Sunday morning against the Cheetahs. They played a simple and conservative game that showed up the Lions’ lack of discipline at Ellis Park on Sunday morning. While the Lions insisted on running the ball and paid for their mistakes, the Crusaders exercised patience and self-restraint, regularly kicking for territory and waiting for the Lions to commit errors.

The Crusaders scraped together their first win of the season on Saturday night against the Stormers in Christchurch. In a game full of penalties from both sides, it appeared as if the Stormers would prevail early on in the match until a late try from newcomer Kieron Fonotia settled the battered nerves of the home crowd.
