Sharks lose a player but win the game in Christchurch

The Crusaders will be bitterly disappointed to have allowed a 14-man Sharks team to beat them at home on Saturday night.  The two teams were neck and neck for much of the game but a 77th minute try to the Sharks saw them steal the win for the first time ever in Crusaders territory.

Record win over Reds

It was a game of two-halves in Brisbane, in what turned out to be a record-breaking victory for the Crusaders over the Reds. Not many would have guessed the end score of 57-29 when the halftime score was sitting at 17-16 to the Reds. But when Wyatt Crockett scored a quick-fire try 4 minutes into the second half, the Crusaders turned a corner and the momentum grew from there.

Convincing win for Crusaders over Brumbies

The Crusaders have dealt the Brumbies their biggest loss in almost three years, beating them by 40 points to 20 on Saturday afternoon.  A sellout crowd at AMI Stadium enjoyed watching their team put the second-placed Brumbies to the sword.

Crusaders make it two from two in SA

The Crusaders are the first team to achieve a clean sweep on tour in 2014, winning their second South African game on Sunday morning against the Cheetahs.   Six tries and a half century on the scoreboard makes it their most impressive game of the season so far, but the win was far from a certainty when they were trailing by five points with 16 minutes left to play.

Patience pays off for Crusaders at Ellis Park

The Crusaders are the first Super Rugby team to cross the Indian Ocean and win in 2014 so far, beating the Lions 28-7.  They played a simple and conservative game that showed up the Lions’ lack of discipline at Ellis Park on Sunday morning.  While the Lions insisted on running the ball and paid for their mistakes, the Crusaders exercised patience and self-restraint, regularly kicking for territory and waiting for the Lions to commit errors.
