The Crusaders have finished the regular season unbeaten at home. The visiting Hurricanes ruined plans of a bonus point victory, threatening to snatch the win until a try in the 79th minute sealed the victory.

A home win in front of a packed out stadium had fans on their feet on Friday night. The visiting Chiefs beat the Crusaders in round 15 and they have relished their spot on top of the domestic conference table, the Chiefs are the defending champions and cannot be underestimated. The pre-match hype about this game was justified - the promised action and drama was delivered in a red-hot performance from the Crusaders.
Crusaders sneak past Waratahs

The Crusaders played host to the Waratahs on Friday night. With only three points between the two sides on the points table going into the match it was bound to be a tough fought battle. The Waratahs hadn't beaten the Crusaders since 2004 and the visitors needed to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Waratahs left it all on the field and the Crusaders were lucky to come away with the win.

There was plenty of excitement in Hamilton last night when the top teams in the domestic competition squared off. The Chiefs are a dangerous outfit, with an ability to open games up from broken play and exploit errors. The Crusaders have proved they can go toe to toe with the competitions best and were looking to build on last week’s win over the blues.

With the business end of the season fast approaching the Crusaders looked to test their seasons progress with a rematch against north island rivals the Blues. Revenge for their season opening loss to Sir John Kirwins men was not the only motivating factor, the game also marked 100 super rugby appearances in the red and black for Andy Ellis.
