BNZ Crusaders shout drought-affected farmers to the footy

While most rugby fans will be pleased to see a fine forecast for Saturday evening’s Super Rugby match against the BNZ Crusaders, North Canterbury farmers are continuing to battle one of the worst droughts the region has ever suffered.  One hundred of those farmers will get the chance to switch off from the constant worry of the drought for an evening though and instead enjoy a night out at the rugby.

The BNZ Crusaders team has been named to play the Chiefs in Suva on Friday night.  This match is a first for the Investec Super Rugby competition, with the National Stadium in Suva hosting this inaugural match. This match carries additional significance as it doubles as a clash between the top two teams in the New Zealand conference.
