Chiefs end Crusaders' 2012 Super Rugby season

The Crusaders have ended their chances of taking the 2012 Investec Super Rugby title, bowing out to the Chiefs in the semi-final at Waikato Stadium on Friday night.  The seven-time champions were uncharacteristically rattled by the relentless attack and rock-solid defence that the Chiefs threw at them, allowing the home side to nudge them out of finals contention.

Bulls bow out, Crusade continues

The Crusaders booked a place in the Investec Super Rugby Semi Finals after an impressive performance against their South African rivals, the Bulls, on Saturday night. The Crusaders won 28-13 with Dan Carter playing a pivotal role, picking up 23 of the Crusaders 28 points. The Bulls played some good rugby at times but left their run a little too late to make any impact on the game.

In a battle between the top of the table Chiefs and the seven time champions Crusaders the match was always going to be exhilarating. The game had an even more intense factor to it as the Crusaders needed to win this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Crusaders rallied under pressure and in a dramatic finish beat the Chiefs 28-21.
