Crusaders team to play the Sharks named

The Crusaders play their fourth consecutive South African side this weekend when they meet the Sharks in Durban. The Sharks are currently sitting near the top of the table having won 4 out of 5 games and have come off a bye last week so will be rested and raring to go. The two teams last met in 2011 in the playoffs where the Crusaders won 36-8 securing a place in the semi-finals.

Crusaders appoint High Performance Leader

The Crusaders are very pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Smith as High Performance Leader. Smith replaces Steve Lancaster who left the role in December to take up a high performance job with Rugby Canada.

Changes to Crusaders and Canterbury Rugby Administration

Crusaders and Canterbury Rugby today announce a change to their management and reporting structures.

Hamish Riach is appointed CEO of the Crusaders and will be directly employed by the Crusaders.  Previously he was employed by the Canterbury Rugby Football Union (CRFU). Riach continues with many of his responsibilities as CEO of the CRFU (via a contract agreement with the Crusaders) but without responsibility for the community game. His focus will now be very much on the professional and business side of the sport.
