Hutchinson

A product of St Bede’s College first XV, Isaac Hutchinson was first noticed by Canterbury’s development system while he was still playing high school rugby and he was selected for the Crusaders Academy and the Canterbury U19 side.

He then earned himself a selection for the Crusaders and NZ U20 sides. In 2024, Isaac was selected for the NZ U20s again for the World Rugby U20 Championship.

Later that year, Isaac debuted for the Canterbury provincial team, he appeared in the starting line up nine times, scored a hat trick in the space of 20 minutes against Waikato and was one of the top ten point scorers of the competition. His outstanding performance earned him the title of 2024 Rookie of the Year with the club.
