Crusaders celebrate double honours at New Zealand Rugby Awards

It was a proud night for the Crusaders at the New Zealand Rugby Awards, with the club taking home two of the most prestigious accolades in the game.

Head Coach Rob Penney was named ASB National Men’s Coach of the Year, a recognition of not only his leadership and vision throughout the season, but the entire coaching staff and wider management team.

“This award is a great tribute to the organisation and the people in it who have contributed so greatly to the ongoing success of the Crusaders,” says Penney.

The Crusaders were also crowned adidas National Men’s Team of the Year, a testament to the collective effort of players, coaches, and staff who worked tirelessly to uphold the proud legacy of this club.

This accolade reflects not just the results on the field, but the off-field belief of the entire organisation that being good humans first is so important.

Crusaders CEO Colin Mansbridge says the recognition is a moment of pride for everyone connected to the club.

“These awards belong to our entire Crusaders whānau – the players, coaches, staff, and our incredible supporters - you're all one of us and these awards are just as much a reflection of your support as they are of our performances on the field.”

The night also highlighted the rising and established stars within our ranks. Oli Mathis, named a finalist for New Zealand Rugby Age Grade Player of the Year, represents the exciting future of the game.

Will Jordan, a finalist for DHL Super Rugby Pacific Player of the Year, continues to inspire with his world-class performances. We couldn’t be prouder of both players and what they bring to the Crusaders family.

To all our fans: thank you for riding every high and low with us. These moments belong to you too.

We look forward to building on this success as we prepare for another exciting season of Crusaders rugby.
