Here is your official 2026 Crusaders calendar of events!
This year isn’t just about fixtures; it’s about moments that connect us as a club and a community. From charity runs to themed rounds and milestone matches, we’ve packed the calendar with opportunities to get involved and celebrate 30 years of Super Rugby together.
We’re kicking the year off with what’s become a staple in our annual calendar: The Long Run. On Friday 23 January, it’s back for its fourth year and bigger than ever, raising funds for the Child Cancer Foundation. Expect a full team training in the middle of the action and plenty of entertainment at Malvern and Rugby Parks. Mark it down – this is one for the whole family.
Pre-season rugby begins on Thursday 30 January in Timaru. Our first hit-out of 2026 takes place at Fraser Park, where we’ll face the Highlanders. It’s grassroots rugby at its best, bringing the team to the heart of South Canterbury. Kick-off is at 3.30pm and tickets are still available here.
The regular season starts on Friday 13 February with a southern derby against the Highlanders at Forsyth Barr Stadium. From there, it’s 14 rounds of fierce competition, seven home games, and an historic Super Round in Christchurch when One New Zealand Stadium finally opens its doors.
As part of the Super Round weekend, we are holding the 2degrees Super Lunch at Te Pae Convention Centre on Friday April 24.
We’ve also got some special themed rounds lined up this year:
Round 4: Club Round – celebrating grassroots rugby with local clubs taking centre stage in pre-match shows, halftime entertainment, and even a race to find the fastest player in each region.
Round 13: Members Round – honouring 30 years of unwavering support from our Crusaders members.
Round 15: Kids Round – one of the most popular rounds returns! Kids will help shape game-day playlists, graphics, and more.
Round 16: Men’s Mental Health Round – standing together for mental wellbeing and encouraging open conversations.
Crusaders members enjoy exclusive access to a range of special events throughout the year, from pre-season gatherings and behind-the-scenes training sessions to family-friendly days and unique experiences. These events offer a chance to connect with the team and fellow fans, making membership about community as much as the game itself.
