Two rugby legends; Chris “Scotty” England and Brendan “Boofa” Laney, have made it their mission to test their rugby equipment against the best professional players on grass. Today, the Crusaders and IMPAKT proudly announce the renewal of their partnership, continuing a collaboration built on innovation, toughness, and a shared drive for world-class performance.

As co-founders of IMPAKT, Scotty and Boofa take their gear from the workshop straight into the intensity of a professional environment, using the Crusaders’ training ground as a proving platform.

“Penz calls and says he needs a new type of tackle suit or hit shield, so we’re operating in a live test environment with coaches and players who are moving very dynamically with the game,” says Scotty England.

“The players really put the kit through a workout, so we can improve designs to make sure it’s professional-ready - and then more than suitable for other professional programmes, as well as clubs and schools.”

Crusaders Head Coach Rob Penney says the responsiveness from Scotty and Boofa has been invaluable.

“They’re in the sheds with us, listening, adjusting, and constantly evolving their gear based on what our players and coaches are feeling. Their commitment to getting it right, quickly, is a huge asset. You can see the pride they have in delivering equipment that truly meets the demands of elite rugby.”
