The annual Junior Crusaders camp has been running in Christchurch this week, and a squad has now been selected to travel to Wellington to play the Hurricanes U-18 squad on Friday 11 October.
Fifty-three under-18 players attended the three-day camp at Christchurch Football Club, put through their paces by a coaching group and current Crusaders players.
Now 36 players will play a game of three halves against their Wellington region counterparts at the New Zealand Campus of Innovation and Sport in Upper Hutt on Friday 11 October.
Johnny Leo’o, Junior Crusaders Head Coach, said the selected squad represented “an exciting mix of talent”.
“It’s been fantastic to have the boys on the grass these past few days, to connect and learn more about the Crusader way,” Leo’o said.
“A big part of our theming at this year’s camp was about Making it Count (M.I.C.), and we’re proud as a group to see these young men make their time in the environment count.”
“The Crusaders have always been focused on development pathways and nurturing talent across our region.
“Myself and the rest of team management are excited to take this group north to test what they’ve learnt and represent the Crusaders.”
