Where is the stadium located?

When should I arrive?

Traffic congestion can be heavy, especially during peak times, so always allow more time than you expect. Aim to arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of the event.

 

What is the best way to get to One New Zealand Stadium?

 

On foot

The stadium is centrally located in Christchurch, just 400 metres from the public Bus Interchange and an 8-minute walk from The Terrace.

There are pedestrian walkways throughout the Stadium precinct connecting to all streets. Entrances are via Barbadoes Street, Tuam Street, Madras Street, and Hereford Street.

 

How can I take a bus to the stadium?

Event Direct by Metro is Christchurch’s pre-booked shuttle service for major events at One New Zealand Stadium. Book at metroinfo.co.nz for the latest details.

There are 11 accessible pickup points across Christchurch. Buses go directly to Latimer Square and Ara on Ferry Road, with returns from the same locations – both about a block from the stadium.

Metro runs all standard bus routes on normal timetables. The Bus Interchange is 400 metres from the stadium.

 

 

Can I bike or scooter to the stadium?

Yes. Bike racks are available in the stadium precinct. E-scooter providers Flamingo and Lime operate across the city for short commutes.

 

 

Will taxis and rideshares be able to get to the stadium?

Taxis and rideshare vehicles drop off and pick up at designated zones on Lichfield Street, just east of the stadium.

 

 

Can I drive my car to the stadium?

We encourage fans to travel on foot or by public transport. There is no onsite parking and roads immediately surrounding the stadium close on event days, with the exception of a section of Hereford Street for drop-offs at the north entrance and pre-booked accessible parking.

Several public car parks are nearby. Check the Council’s parking map for options.

Is there accessible parking?

What is accessible entry like?

Dedicated drop-off and pick-up zones are located near the main gates, with clear step-free routes from mobility parking to stadium entrances. Early arrival is recommended.

Which gate should I enter from?

You’ll need to enter through the gate listed on your ticket. This is the only gate where your ticket will scan correctly:

  • Gate A = West Stand, Madras Street (Hospitality only)
  • Gate C = South Stand, Tuam Street
  • Gate E = East Stand, Barbadoes Street
  • Gate F = The Stables, corner of Hereford and Barbadoes Street
  • Gate H = Sections 301–303, corner of Hereford and Madras Street

 

 

Can I enter through any gate, or is it ticket-specific?

Entry is ticket-specific. Your barcode is only valid at the designated gate on your ticket. Check before you arrive and head straight to the correct gate to avoid delays.

 

 

What’s the best time to arrive before kick-off?

Aim to arrive at least 45 minutes before kick-off.

 

 

Will there be pre-game entertainment outside the stadium?

Yes – pre-game entertainment including interactive activations and partner experiences runs outside the stadium before every home game. Arrive early to make the most of it.

 

 

Will there be security checks?

There will be bag checks at all gates.

 

 

Can I bring bags/backpacks?

Bags must be 30cm × 30cm or under to enter the venue.

 

 

What items are not allowed into One New Zealand Stadium?

 

Prohibited Items

The following items must not be brought into the Stadium:

  • Bags larger than 30cm × 30cm × 30cm.
  • Unsealed bottles or containers of any size.
  • Plastic bottles over 1L.
  • Cans or glass.
  • Metal drink bottles.
  • Flasks / Thermos / Chilly bins.

 

Where is the wheelchair access?

Can I leave the stadium and come back in?

Pass-outs are not available. Once you leave the venue, re-entry will not be permitted. Plan ahead to make the most of your time inside.

Can I pay with cash?

One New Zealand Stadium is a cashless venue. All major cards and digital payments are accepted.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Homemade food for personal consumption (e.g. sandwiches) is permitted. Bottles or drink containers of any size (excluding baby bottles), and commercial food (e.g. fish and chips, Subway, McDonald’s) are not permitted.

 

 

Will there be alcohol-free zones? 

Yes – alcohol-free seating is available in Sections 130, 131, 331, and 332. A family-friendly environment for those who prefer to enjoy the game without alcohol nearby.
