Saifoloi signs on: Crusaders lock in rising star through to 2027
Loose forward Xavier Saifoloi has extended his contract with the Crusaders, committing to the club through to the 2027 season.
"It's pretty awesome to be able to stick around for a few more years," says Saifoloi.
"The main driver for me to stay around is how much people care for each other at this club."
Saifoloi, who has just turned 22, first made his made his provincial debut for Waikato in 2023.
He made his Crusaders debut earlier this season against the Western Force in round five to become Crusader #297.
"My family are big Crusaders supporters, so it was cool to pull on the jersey and get my cap number, that was an unreal feeling.
"David Havili mentioned in our pre-season that we needed everyone all in, and I guess that showed and helped our success on and off the field,” he says.
Looking ahead, Saifoloi is looking forward to the chance to play in the new One New Zealand Stadium next season, as well as adding to the legacy of the red and black jersey.
"I'm here to be a Crusader. I'm here to learn and grow – as a player and as a person."
