Team Naming v Highlanders: Pre Season in Methven

The Crusaders have named the squad to take the field versus the Highlanders in Methven on Friday, in the final pre-season fixture before Super Rugby Pacific 2024 kicks off.

Brodie McAlister takes the captaincy and leads from the front row alongside Tamaiti Williams and Fletcher Newell. A mix of seasoned and fresh talent make up the balance of the team.

Antonio Shalfoon, Tahlor Cahill, George Reeves, Fletcher Anderson and Torian Barnes round out the forwards.

Louie Chapman pulls on the 9 jersey alongside Dan Hawkins at 10. Heremaia Murray is set to light up the left wing, mirrored by Sevu Reece on the right. Jone Rova and Toby Bell take up centre with Taine Robinson at fullback.

We’re set for some huge impact off the bench. Our replacement front row exudes experience in Ioane Moananu, Joe Moody and Seb Calder.

Liam Jack and Corey Kellow are all set to bring strength to the forwards. Expect Noah Hotham to get minutes at halfback, as well as backs Cooper Roberts, Isaac Hutchinson (who ran the fastest bronco in pre-season testing), Blair Murray and Jack Gray.

The game won’t be broadcast anywhere so if you want to catch the action you’ll need to be there in person.
