The Fan Trail: Your guide to Super Round in the city
Super Round isn't just happening inside One New Zealand Stadium. It's taking over the whole city, and Crusaders fans are at the heart of it.
ChristchurchNZ and Super Rugby Pacific have set up a free Live Site fan zone on The Terrace, where you can watch all five Super Round matches on the big screen, soak up the atmosphere, and get up close with the players. No ticket required.
The Fan Trail
Running from the Bridge of Remembrance along City Mall and Cashel Street all the way to One NZ Stadium, the eight-minute Fan Trail is your gateway to the festival. Buskers, dancers, and musicians will line the route from two and a half hours before every kick-off, turning the walk to the ground into part of the occasion. If this is your first time heading into One NZ Stadium, this is the way to arrive.
The Live Site
The big screen sits on the banks of the Avon/Ōtākaro, just north of the Bridge of Remembrance. It's a great spot to watch live if you haven't got a ticket, or to warm up before heading in. All 10 Super Round teams will be at the Live Site for signing sessions over the Anzac weekend, including your Crusaders.
Crusaders fans, here's your schedule:
- Thursday 23 April: Crusaders and NSW Waratahs signing session, 4pm to 5pm (Live Site open from 3pm)
- Friday 24 April: Fan Trail entertainment from 5pm to 7pm. Live Site open 3pm to 9.30pm.
- Saturday 25 April and Sunday 26 April: Live Site open from midday Saturday and 11.30am Sunday, with Fan Trail entertainment and more signing sessions across both days.
Plan ahead
With around 13,500 visitors expected in Christchurch over the long weekend, the city is going to be busy. Organisers are asking everyone to plan their travel in advance. Head to the ChristchurchNZ website for transport options, and as always, aim to arrive at least 45 minutes before kick-off.
This is Christchurch's first major event at One NZ Stadium, and the city is putting on a show. Make the most of it.
