U20 Squad Named for Game One

The future of Super Rugby is on show over the next 10 days as the Bunnings Warehouse Super Rugby U20 tournament kicks off in Taupō. 

The Crusaders take on the NZ Barbarians in the third of four fixtures on Sunday 19 March, kick off at 2.45pm at Owen Delany Park. All matches are live on Sky Sport.  

The boys in red and black sit in a pool with the Blues, New Zealand Barbarians Under 21 and Fijian Drua, who together with Moana Pasifika are playing in the tournament for the first time. 

James White will captain the team, firmly in the starting 15 at first five, with lock Hunter Leppien and second five Dawson Smith backing White up as vice-captains. 

Alex Robertson is Head Coach with Hoani Macdonald, Brendon Smith and Kieran Coll making up the rest of the coaching staff. 

Crusaders Academy Director Aaron Webb previously said the squad was “a great opportunity for some of our region’s young players to show what they can do”.
