Your vote, your legends: The Crusaders Legends XV starts now

30 years of Super Rugby.  

 

Thousands of players who’ve become legends in our game.  

 

Only 15 can be crowned all-time legends. 

 

Now, it’s your turn to help write the next chapter. 

 

To celebrate this incredible milestone, Super Rugby is inviting fans far and wide to take part in the Legends XV campaign. 

 

This is a season-long celebration where fans will choose the greatest Super Rugby players of all time. It’s a chance to honour the players who’ve shaped our competition’s history, have some banter and debate, and share stories that connect us all through our great game.

How it works: 

 

For four weeks, we will run our own competition to decide the ultimate Crusaders Legends XV, alongside all other Super Rugby clubs.  

 

Each week focuses on a different group of positions (please note, this format may be different to other Super Rugby clubs).

 

There are 3-4 nominees per position, with only one vote permitted per position.  

 

Week 1 (January 12-18) The Power Pack (Front Row + Locks): Loosehead, Hooker, Tighthead, Locks  

 

 

 

Week 2 (January 19-25) The Workhorses (Loose Forwards): Blindside, Openside, Number 8 

 

 

Week 3 (January 26- February 1) The Playmakers (Halfbacks + Midfield): 9, 10, 12, 13 ​ 

 

 

 

Week 4 (February 2-8) The Finishers (Back Three): Wings + Fullback 

 

 

You will vote for pre-determined nominees per position (no going upstairs for this one – our nominees are final). At the end of the four week voting phase, we’ll reveal the full Crusaders Legends XV – your team, chosen by you.  

 

Your votes will crown the ultimate Crusaders Legends XV and determine which players go forward to compete for the Super Rugby Legends XV later in the season. Every vote matters, because the players you choose now could become part of the greatest team across 30 years of Super Rugby. 

 

Voting kicks off today for The Power Pack – the front row and locks. They’re the foundation of every Crusaders pack, the players who do the hard graft so the team can dominate. This week, we honour the legends who’ve anchored our scrums and ruled the lineout. 

 

Voting is open from 12–18 January. Choose your Loosehead, Hooker, Tighthead, and two Locks from these Crusaders greats:
