The Crusade with Heart Foundation was established in 2022 with the intention of having an ever-increasing positive impact on the community we are a part of.

 

Since its formation, the Crusade with Heart Foundation has helped raise over $450,000, primarily through our annual Long Run and Hall of Fame Charity Lunch events.

The Long Run

The Crusaders are committed to having a positive impact on our community, and we are humbled to be partnering with the Child Cancer Foundation to raise much-needed funding for their important work supporting families of children fighting Cancer. 

MOVEMBER JESERY AUCTION

We’re proud to be auctioning some exclusive training jerseys, with all proceeds going to Movember.

Our friends at Movember are all about looking after the boys, improving men’s mental health and helping us build stronger social connections. We’ve all heard about NZ’s mental health record and we’re keen to do our bit to help our men live happier, healthier lives.

BAYLEYS MAKING AN IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITY

Crusaders official community partner, Bayleys Canterbury have been an active force doing good in the community for years now. Most notably, the last three years have seen Bayleys raise over half a million dollars through their "Plate Up For a Purpose" initiative - something Crusaders CEO Colin Mansbridge has involved himself in. Joe Moody Donates 100th Game Jersey

Joe Moody donated his 100th game jersey (Crusaders v Hurricanes 11 April) which was auctioned for the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ, and $11,000 was raised.  The buyer wished to remain anonymous, however, Joe, the Crusaders and PCFNZ offer our sincere thanks for the generous bid. 

JJS & Child Cancer Foundation

Thanks to Frank and the team at John Jones Steel we helped raise over $10,000 for the Child Cancer Foundation at the Crusaders versus Highlanders game on Friday 2 April.

Fundraising For Mid Canterbury Flood Relief

The Crusaders & Farmlands Co-operative auctioned 8 'Engine Room' Jerseys to raise funds for the rural community in Mid Canterbury which has recently been devastated by widespread flooding.  All auctions closed on Thursday 10 June and over $22,000 was raised!

Ricoh & Trees for Canterbury Planting Day

Great day out thanks to the team at Ricoh and staff from Trees for Canterbury. On Tuesday 13 April Crusaders Codie Taylor, Dallas McLeod, Mitchell Drummond and Samuel Whitelock helped plant over 750 trees to support the rejuvenation of indigenous forest at Cranford Basin.

Crusaders, Farmlands & Farmstrong

Thanks to the wonderful support of Farmlands, the Crusaders were able to present Farmstrong with $5,000 following their victory in the Farmlands Cup pre-season game in Temuka.

Backing The Life's Worth Living Project

It was a privilege to support the Life's Worth Living Project as raise $7,300 at our pre-season game in Ashburton in 2020.  Crusaders Captain, Scott Barrett, proudly presents representatives for the Life's Worth Living Trust with the funds raised at the Ashburton Showgrounds. 

The Amazing Christchurch City Mission

Our Crusaders Academy & Staff supporting the Chirstchurch City Mission with the annual erection of the Mission's Christmas marquee.

Helping The Australian Fire Service & Rural Aid

At our opening game of the 2020 season, alongside the support of the Waratahs, Fire & Emergency NZ, and the Nelson City Council, we raised $12,000 to support the Australia Rural Fire Service.

Farmstrong - Helping The Rural Community

With the support of Farmstrong and Farmlands, Sam Whitelock hosted a deserving rural family at the Crusaders versus Highlanders game in 2020.  Sam also donated his 150th game jersey and raised $7,500 for the Farmstrong Rural Charity.

Being Inspired By Women's Rugby

It was awesome to see our Crusaders helping with a women'r rugby skills session at Rugby Park in 2020. So many stars of the future in attendance, and we can't wait to see them on the field!

Rural Support Trust - Champion Of The Farmers!

Thanks to the wonderful support of Farmlands and the Farmlands Cup pre-season game, the Crusaders presented a cheque to the Rural Support Trust for $5,000 in 2020.

Supporting The Child Cancer Foundation

Crusaders Academy Manager, Aaron Webb, raised $7,685 for the Child Cancer Foundation.  Aaron ran a marathon in 2020 and was supported by the Crusaders community with donations.

Thanks To The Life Savers

An opportunity to thank the wonderful staff who saved a life at a Crusaders home game in 2020.  There are so many wonderful people in our community, but special mention to all the doctors, nurses, St John and front line medical workers, the many police who serve our community and the amazing event staff at Venues Ōtautahi.
