Corey is a talented athlete - as well as playing for New Zealand Secondary Schools' in rugby, he was part of the Sacred Heart College water polo team which won the North Island Senior Schools Championship in 2019, leading him to be the vice captain of the New Zealand Secondary Schools water polo team, he also competed to a national level in athletics.

Focussing on rugby, Corey was selected for the Crusaders Under 20s in 2021 before making his debut for the Canterbury provincial side later that year against Auckland and scoring a try off the bench. His 2022 debut season for the Crusaders provided cover for Pablo Matera and Tom Christie.

In 2024 Corey played two games for the All Blacks XV, winning against Georgia and Munster.

When he’s not honing his rugby skills, Corey loves to surf, and wakeboard and recently graduated from Lincoln University with a Commerce Degree majoring in Property.
