Scott Barrett returns for his fourth season with the BNZ Crusaders, although he actually played his first Crusaders game in 2014 against England.
The 23 year old has rugby in his blood. His father, Kevin "Smiley" Barrett, played over 100 games for Taranaki and 33 matches for the Hurricanes in 1997 and 1998. Scott has four brothers: Kane played for Taranaki and the Blues, Beauden and Jordie play for Taranaki and the Hurricanes, and youngest brother Blake has played age grade rugby for Taranaki. He also has three younger sisters, Jenna, Zara and Ella. Scott, Beauden and Jordie are all current All Blacks.
Like his brothers, Scott played his schoolboy rugby for Francis Douglas Memorial College and was a standout performer in their first XV. Scott has also played for the New Zealand Under 20s and made his debut for the All Blacks in 2016, against Ireland in Chicago.
He is an athletic lock who has a great skill set and can also play at flanker.
