About
London born lock Jamie Hannah played in Christchurch Boys’ High School first XV, and during year 12 was selected for the NZ Barbarians side. He was then selected for the NZ Schools team in 2020 (while no games were played due to covid restrictions, a team was still named to recognise the efforts of the players).
Off the back of phenomenal performances in 2019, Jamie gained a place at the Crusaders Academy the following year whilst he began studying at Lincoln University, and playing for them at club level.
Jamie was selected for the NZU20 squad in 2022, for the Oceania Rugby Championship coming away with the title.
His debut with the Crusaders was in 2023 with three consecutive games, each resulting in a win. Starting the 2024 on full contract, Jamie was awarded Rookie of the Year during the club awards. Due to a shoulder injury, Jamie didn’t debut for the Canterbury provincial side until 2024.
“I have looked up to the Crusaders my whole childhood” said Jamie, “I just love going into Rugby Park every day, we have a good bunch of boys in the team and I’m excited at the idea of continuing the legacy that’s already been laid down by players before me”.
