The Crusaders will open their 2024 season with three away games before a local derby at home.
Our boys will once again face the Chiefs in the opening round – a tantalising Grand Final repeat in Hamilton on Friday 23 February. We’ll play they twice before our Round 7 Bye – the second fixture a Round 6 home game on Friday 29 March – some big games for early points and pride.
We’re on the road to face the Waratahs in Melbourne for Super Round on Saturday 2 March. We played the Highlanders over there in 2023 so it’ll nice to bring that derby back to Kiwi shores. Then we shoot over to Fiji to face the Drua in Round 3 on Saturday 9 March. If its anything like our last visit both us and the fans will be in for a huge game.
Our first home game of the ’24 season will be Round 4 versus the Hurricanes on Friday 15 March at the newly named Apollo Projects Stadium. We didn’t play our Northern rivals until late in the ’23 season, so this’ll be an early test for both us and the black and yellow.
Get set for back-to-back home games in Round 10 and 11 versus the Rebels and the Reds, and Round 14 and 15 versus the Blues and Moana Pasifika. We’ll sneak in a Round 12 southern derby in Dunedin on Saturday 11 May versus the Highlanders – our first visit to Dunedin in three years – and a Round 13 away game versus the Brumbies on Saturday 18 May, the in-form Australian side of the ’23 season.
Round 5, our away game versus the Blues, will be Kids Round, where we shine a spotlight on the upcoming generation of players, pundits and supporters.
Round 12, when we meet the Highlanders in Dunedin, will be Culture Round where we celebrate the diversity and traditions that make up Super Rugby and our teams.
