The Crusaders Development XV kick off the first of three fixtures on Saturday, facing the Highlanders’ Bravehearts in Pleasant Point.
Kick off is 1pm at Pleasant Point Rugby Club.
The team will face the Hurricanes in West Melton on 9 March, and the Bravehearts again on 23 March back in Pleasant Point.
The Crusaders Development XV is one aspect of the effort the club puts into nurturing pathways for young players to find their way into professional rugby, while also giving important minutes to players who will find themselves running out in Super Rugby Pacific 2024.
“These are big fixtures for our boys, both up and comers and those with full Crusaders contracts,” said Head Coach Grant Keenan.
“They’re a chance to test their strengths, lay their claim, and stay fit as the season heats up.”
Keenan said it was “a great showcase of the breadth of talent we have in our region”, and an opportunity “for the boys to run out and represent their home in front of family and friends”.
