Louie Chapman was Head Boy at Christchurch Boys’ High School and captain of their first XV when he represented NZ Schools Barbarians in 2017. He was part of the Crusaders Junior Knights program before being selected for Tasman Mako as injury cover in 2020 and has since played 40 games for the provincial team.

Louie was part of the Crusaders Development squad in 2023, where he made his debut against the Hurricanes in the starting lineup.
